Leadership

Rob Cuevas is the founding pastor and leading elder of Tabernacle of Praise.   He along with his wife Leslie moved from New Orleans to begin the church in 1986.  Together they raised their two sons, Benjamin and Caleb, and watched the church blossom into a community of those who desire to love one another and make Christ known.   Pastor Rob serves the town of Fletcher as Sheriffs Chaplain. In his spare time enjoys hiking, golfing, and spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren Lou and Goldie Grace.

Derek lives in Hendersonville, North Carolina, where he owns and operates a law office. He is married to Christi and together they have a daughter, Kennedy. Derek and Christi have been attending members at Tabernacle of Praise since 2013. Derek has been leading worship at Tabernacle of Praise since 2015. He is a versatile musician and singer. He is quick to give God credit for his abilities, and worships Him with true sincerity.

Joyce Simms was born and raised in Mississippi and moved to North Carolina in 2001. She and her husband raised five children and have several grandchildren. She is a Henderson County public school teacher and teaches  high school special education. Joyce became the children's pastor at TOP in 2017 and loves working with children of all ages, teaching them the word of God on their level.

Thad & Mandy Parr moved to the area and started attending Tabernacle of Praise in 1992. Following the lord, they committed to supporting the ministry to further the kingdom. They serve as elders and over the years, have led men, women, and children's ministries, bible studies and outreach programs. They have three children and six  grandchildren children. Serving the lord has been the strength of their family. 

After relocating back to WNC in 2014, Ruben and Laris were looking for a good home church and found Tabernacle of Praise. They not only wanted a church they could attend, but a church they could serve in. Both Ruben and Laris serve on the leadership team and Ruben is in charge of church security.

Although Marco & Vicki are both Ohio natives, they have lived in several states because of employment and education opportunities. They relocated to WNC and found a church home in Tabernacle of Praise in 2012.  Marco works with sound and video recording and Vicki is a teacher and has taught in both christian and public education. 

Marco and Karin have been in the Asheville area since 2007. Marco is from Honduras and Karin is from Germany. They have two children, Elias and Sara. They began attending Tabernacle of Praise in 2014. Karin is part of the praise and worship team and Marco works with the church tech department. They love the freedom of worship and going deeper into the things of God.

Mark lives in Fairview, NC with his wife Roseanna and his children. Mark has been a part of TOP family since 2017. He is the lead drummer on the praise and worship team as well as serves on the leadership team. He also handles audio, video and visual details for each service. Above all, his greatest love is his pursuit of a deeper relationship with the Father.
